Wyoming History Comes Alive at the Grand Encampment Museum

Attention for Summer 2024 Opening and Events

The Grand Encampment Museum opens for the 2024 summer season on Saturday, May 25.  The operating hours for this season are Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5pm.  Guided tours are offered first come first served with available staff and volunteers.

For large groups we recommend calling in advance.  We hope to see you here at the GEM of Southern Wyoming and have a great summer!

 Come experience Encampment from a century ago!

The Grand Encampment Museum is the GEM” of Southern Wyoming. It is located in Encampment, Wyoming. The GEM has a rich collection of over a dozen historical buildings filled with artifacts representing the timber, mining, and agricultural history of the Encampment valley at the turn of the 20th century.

2024 Summer Season Hours:
Opens for the season on Saturday, May 25!!!
Tuesday – Saturday: 9am – 5pm.                                                                                                Sunday – Noon – 4pm

2024-25 Winter Season Hours: 
Open MOST weekdays:
Monday – Thursday : 10 am – 4pm
Our Research Library is open year round but please call to make an appointment!

 

Guided Tours for families and groups in Summer:  Offered during our Summer Season. For the 2023 summer season, guided tours will be offered on a first come first served basis when with available staff and volunteers when possible.
